first, do not pHARM // part one: intuition

Intuition is our greatest gift. The intuition God imparts on us as humans is so powerful. Although the Bible doesn’t use the modern word intuition, it can be likened to the word discernment.

And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment. Philippians 1:9

I believe the intuition God imparts through the Holy Spirit when we become parents is doused with an extra measure of grace and perception and desire. It’s a powerful gift He’s given us. And we need to tap into that power more.

It has become common nature to look for answers from others. We scour the internet trying to find what is right and wrong. We compare our lives and decisions to those we have never even met. We judge others for their choices. We make black and white statements that ultimately shame others. We lose sight of our individual intuition. Today I’m challenging you. Quiet your mind, delete social media, spend time in prayer and start tapping into your God-given discernment. On everything. Yes, it’s comforting to feel like you are in agreement with a certain group. Or that you have all the answers and everyone else is lost. That certainly boosts our confidence in the moment. But are you truly at peace? Are you inline with the discernment the Holy Spirit has given you? Are you scared to go against the grain of society? Is your world kinda falling around you while you see truth being revealed but it goes against everything you’ve ever heard or been taught?

I am 1 million percent guilty of ALL of this. But I’ve learned after becoming a parent almost 3 years ago, and especially over the last year, that you know what is right for you. You know. You know. I’ll say it again, YOU KNOW. You may need guidance, you may need support, you may need facts, you may need studies, but at the end of the day, you know what is right for your babies and your family. God gave us a compass in our hearts and His word. I mean, He gave us everything, and I feel that the art of using those tools is getting lost each and everyday.

I’m not a huge fan of relying on our “feelings’ to make decisions, but I do think that God gave us our emotions and feelings and our gut to DISCERN. Once those feelings come hand in hand with FACTS, you’re unstoppable. You’re in line with the Holy Spirit. He will PROTECT you according to His will.

For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. Romans 8:14

Trust who you want. Stand behind those companies. Believe what you want. But never, ever go against your intuition. Ever. It’s your child, your choice. And it should remain that way.

If you’re a Christ follower, there’s a peace that surpasses all understanding. Rest in that peace and that power.
